Structural Subcontractors Service LLC, a construction company based in Birmingham, Alabama, is facing $102,669 in proposed penalties from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

During an inspection on July 7, 2017, OSHA officers discovered workers wearing fall protection harnesses, but "were not tied off to prevent a fall." The company was cited for failing to protect its employees from falls, a common construction safety hazard. “Falls in construction are a leading cause of fatal injuries,” said OSHA Area Director William Fulcher, in Atlanta. “This company knowingly allowed the framers to work on the roof without fall protection.”
