Q3 was all about taking manual work off your team's plate.Across the 26.8–26.11 releases, we brought AI into permit management and vendor qualification, reimagined chemical inventory tracking, expanded what our MCP Connector can do, and introduced dozens of everyday workflow improvements across training, audits, and incident reporting.
Here's a look at the biggest updates from Q3.
Permit Management
Permit Management, introduced in Q2, grew significantly this quarter, with new tools to understand, act on, and track permits across their entire lifecycle.
- AI Permit Extraction that reads a permit document and automatically extracts and categorizes every compliance requirement, including type, summary, page number, citation, responsible parties, and frequency
- Group extracted requirements into suggested Topics, then regroup them via chat by activity, frequency, unit, or whatever fits your permit, with a review step before anything is confirmed
- Track Permit Revisions and Renewals with a full version history, and use AI to detect what changed between versions
- Create Compliance Tasks directly from a Permit to turn requirements into actionable follow-up work
Impact: Save hours reading dense permit language, reduce the risk of missed requirements, and keep a complete record of every permit change and whether it was implemented.
AI & Connected Intelligence
Q3 extended AI into more of the high-effort review work EHS teams do every day, both inside the platform and through the MCP Connector.
- AI-powered Vendor Document Review that evaluates uploaded vendor documents against configurable rules and marks each one Passed, Flagged, or Not Analyzed
- Automatically catch expired documents or company names that don't match the vendor record, while reviewers keep full control of approvals
- The MCP Connector now fetches and analyzes attachments, so Claude, ChatGPT, and Copilot can describe inspection photos, summarize PDF reports, and extract content from SOPs on any record you have access to
- AI change detection between permit versions and AI-driven permit requirement extraction
Impact: Spend less time on manual document review and get more value from the files and photos already stored in EHS Insight, without leaving your AI assistant.
Vendor Management
We continued investing in Vendor Management to make working with contractors more accountable and less administrative.
- Vendor Contacts can now start Audit & Inspection, Incident Event, Quality Event, Work Observation, and custom forms directly from the Vendor Portal
- Every submission is tied to a named Vendor Contact for clear accountability
- AI Document Review helps qualify vendors faster by highlighting documents that need a closer look
Impact: A smoother, authenticated reporting experience for your vendors and stronger oversight for your team.
Chemical Management
The new Transaction-Based Chemical Inventory form offers a more dynamic alternative to periodic inventory counts.
- Record every purchase and usage transaction to maintain real-time inventory totals for each material at each business entity
- Scan material QR codes to update inventory right at the point of use
- An updated Chemical Inventory Tier II Log automatically rolls up inventory by chemical composition and performs the calculations needed to compare totals against state-specific EPA Tier II thresholds
- New reports for onsite inventory levels, material transactions, historical trends, and usage over time
Impact: Real-time visibility into hazardous materials and far less manual effort when preparing EPA Tier II reports.
Training, Audits & Incident Reporting
We also refined the core workflows safety professionals rely on daily.
- Dynamic QR Code Sessions let attendees check themselves into Safety Meetings and training sessions by scanning a code
- New Training One-Off Assignment settings can invalidate a previous completion and require retraining, giving supervisors immediate visibility into who isn't currently qualified
- GPS Location Capture on Audit & Inspection forms and in workflow history to verify work was completed on site
- STP AuditHub integration brings expert-authored, regulation-mapped checklists directly into Audit & Inspection Question Sets, complementing the existing STP RegHub integration
- An interactive Body Diagram on the Incident Event form makes it faster and more accurate to record affected body parts
Impact: Faster attendance tracking, clearer qualification status, verifiable inspections, and higher-quality incident data.
Platform Enhancements
We continued improving the everyday experience for users around the world.
- Add On The Fly for Single Picker fields lets authorized users create and edit linked forms, lists, and document library records without leaving the current form
- Added support for Bengali, further expanding our 30+ supported languages
- A redesigned Permit form layout built to manage multiple permit versions
Impact: Fewer clicks, fewer interruptions, and a more accessible platform for global teams.
The Bigger Picture
Q3 focused on automating the routine work that slows EHS teams down, while improving the accuracy and traceability of the data they depend on.
This quarter delivered:
- AI Permit Extraction plus permit revision and renewal tracking
- AI-powered Vendor Document Reviews
- Transaction-based chemical inventory with streamlined EPA Tier II reporting
