AI for EHS & ESG

AI That Works the Way You Do.

Three layers of intelligence built into EHS Insight, including a new connector that brings your live EHS data directly into Claude, ChatGPT, and Microsoft Copilot.

EHS Insight is built to be intelligent from the ground up. AI works across the entire platform to surface hidden risk, sharpen reporting accuracy, and help your team take the right action faster.

This isn't basic automation, and it isn't a single assistant bolted onto the side. It's intelligence integrated across everything your team already does in EHS Insight.

The platform detects serious injury and fatality (SIF) precursors, analyzes photos, improves reporting accuracy, verifies data quality, summarizes documents, and recommends corrective actions, all in real time and inside the system your team uses every day.

By catching risk early, EHS Insight saves time, reduces cost, and most importantly, protects lives.

And Now That Intelligence Goes Where Your Team Works.

Our new connector brings your live EHS data directly into Claude, ChatGPT, and Microsoft Copilot. Ask in plain language. Get answers from your real data. No exports, no new tool to learn.

Here's how we built it, and where it goes next.

AI That Works the Way You Do.

We Built EHS AI in Three Layers, on Purpose.

EHS Insight AI in Three Layers

Most platforms bolt a chatbot onto their product and call it AI. We took a different approach. EHS Insight has two kinds of intelligence built directly into the platform, plus a new connector that brings your data out to the AI tools your team already uses every day.

Layer 1. Task Assistant AI

Purpose-built models embedded directly in the workflows where you need them. They review incident descriptions for missing concepts. They suggest corrective actions from photos attached to an investigation. They deconstruct permits into the underlying obligations and compliance tasks. Specialized, precise, and trained for EHS work.

Layer 2. Analytical AI

Capabilities inside EHS Insight that help you search your data, surface trends, and generate reports without manually building every query. The intelligence that helps you understand what your EHS program is telling you, while you are working in EHS Insight.

Layer 3. The MCP Connector

New. The Model Context Protocol connector exposes EHS Insight to Claude, ChatGPT, and Microsoft Copilot. Ask questions in plain language from the AI tool you already use. Get answers from your live, permissioned EHS data, right there in the same conversation where you are drafting emails, building decks, and running your day.

“Built-in platform AI features continue to be purpose-built and precise, focused primarily on getting high-quality data into the system. The MCP connector is what makes that high-quality data available out where information workers are already working.”

- Eric Stevens, Chief Technology Officer, EHS Insight

Ask EHS Insight Anything. From Anywhere Your Team Works.

Once you connect, your AI assistant can answer questions that would otherwise require logging in, finding the right report, filtering the data, exporting to Excel, and reformatting. The cognitive overhead disappears. You ask. The AI knows where to look.

 The Quick Pull

Ask: “Show me all overdue corrective actions from our Q2 audits.”

Get an answer drawn from your live data, in the same conversation where you will draft the follow-up message.
 The Correlation Question

Ask: “Find any EHS incident where the injured person was the observed person on a work observation within the two weeks prior to their injury.”

Get a multi-step analysis no dashboard can run. The AI plans the query, pulls from multiple modules, adapts when it hits a wall, and returns a correlated answer.
 The Board-Ready Strategic Question

Ask: “Which business entities have seen worsening incident rates? Which have seen worsening Work Observation participation? Is there a correlation?”

Get a leadership-ready summary complete with the correlation, ready to drop into the executive deck the AI helps you draft next.

Connect Once. Ask in Plain Language. The AI Does the Rest.

Total setup time: under a minute. No IT project, no integration SOW, no admin involvement required.

Step 1. Connect

Open Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot. Navigate to settings. Add a new connector using your EHS Insight URL (for example, yoursite.ehsinsight.com/mcp).

Step 2. Authenticate

You are redirected to EHS Insight to log in. Approve the connection on a simple permission screen. Standard OAuth flow, the same kind your team already uses to grant access to other enterprise tools.

Step 3. Ask

Your AI sessions now have live access to any EHS Insight data you are allowed to see. Start the conversation. The AI handles the rest.

A Security Upgrade, Not a Security Risk.

EHS data is already moving into AI tools in most organizations. People export incident reports to Excel and paste them into ChatGPT. They copy CAPA tables into Claude. They do it to get work done. That is happening today, ungoverned and unlogged, outside the security review that enterprise AI agreements were meant to cover.

MCP replaces that manual workflow with something measurably better.

  • Live data. Never replicated. Every query runs against your actual EHS Insight records.
  • Your permissions, enforced. The AI sees only what the authenticated user is permissioned to see in EHS Insight. Nothing more.
  • Every query audit-logged through the same trail as your UI and API.
  • Standard OAuth. No shared service accounts, no embedded keys, no credentials in chat history.
  • SOC 2 and ISO 27001 controls apply to every MCP session.
  • No new AI subprocessor. Your existing Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot agreement governs the AI side. EHS Insight does not introduce a new vendor into your AI data flow.
A Security Upgrade, Not a Security Risk.

“MCP moves EHS Insight data into a system the customer already controls and has already made governance decisions about. That is a different risk profile than a lot of other arrangements.”

- Eric Stevens, Chief Technology Officer, EHS Insight

Intelligence Built Into Every Part of Your EHS Platform

Spot serious injury and fatality precursors before they become incidents, surface the patterns hidden in your inspection and observation data, and turn routine reporting into early warning. EHS Insight builds AI into the platform itself, so intelligence shows up where your teams already work rather than in a separate tool.

Model Advancements: The underlying AI models, like GPT, continue to evolve and improve, enabling better predictions and insights.

Platform Enhancements: EHS Insight fine-tunes the AI specifically for EHS applications, making continuous improvements to ensure the AI’s output is relevant and valuable. Customers can also fine-tune the AI to meet their specific industry needs.

What is MCP?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot connect directly to external software systems and query data in real time, scoped to each user’s permissions.

Do I need IT to set this up?

No. End users connect their own AI sessions in under a minute using their existing EHS Insight credentials. For IT-governed environments, admins can scope which users are allowed to enable MCP and audit the OAuth grants in EHS Insight.

What can I ask my AI to do?

Anything that involves your EHS Insight data. Pull reports, summarize trends, correlate records across modules, draft executive prep, populate slide templates with live program data. If you can describe the question, the AI can find the answer.

Is my data safe?

Every MCP session is authenticated and permissioned. The AI sees only what the user is permissioned to see in EHS Insight. Queries are audit-logged through the same trail as your UI and API. Your existing AI vendor agreement (Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot) governs how those tools handle data passed through the session. EHS Insight does not introduce a new AI subprocessor.

How is this different from your built-in AI?

EHS Insight has two kinds of built-in AI. Task assistant AI helps you work better inside the platform (incident review, CAPA suggestions, permit deconstruction). Analytical AI helps you search, trend, and report inside the platform. MCP brings analytical capability out to the AI tools where your team is already working. The three layers are complementary, not competing.

Which AI tools does MCP support?

At launch, Claude, ChatGPT, and Microsoft Copilot, which are the major AI assistants that have adopted the Model Context Protocol. Because MCP is an open standard, support extends to any AI tool that adopts the protocol.

Does this replace the EHS Insight user interface?

No. Dashboards, forms, and workflows continue exactly as they are. MCP is an additional channel for accessing the same underlying data.

How does MCP differ from your API?

Our API requires a developer to build something. MCP gives non-technical users a developer in their pocket. Their AI writes the API calls in real time based on their natural-language question. The same underlying access, a dramatically different audience.

What does it cost?

EHS Insight's built in AI is included in the platform at no additional charge.

Pricing for the MCP integration is being finalized. AI compute runs on the customer’s existing Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot subscription. EHS Insight does not charge per query. Contact your account team for specifics on the launch pricing structure.
