EHS Insight Platform FAQs
What is an EHS platform?
EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) platforms are systems that helps businesses capture, store, and analyze key safety and compliance data. They give teams an easy way to track workplace health and safety activity.
What EHS Software Helps You Manage
- Incidents and accidents
- Waste management
- Sustainability efforts
- Environmental impact
- Day-to-day safety processes
Why Businesses Use EHS Software
Many companies adopt EHS software to stay compliant with regulations—especially those working with hazardous materials or high-risk operations.
It also helps teams prepare for audits by giving them:
- Clear inspection benchmarks
- Organized, accurate records
- Faster access to required documentation
How EHS Software Supports Your Team
EHS platforms are powerful tools for safety and compliance teams across all industries. They help teams:
- Analyze risks using real data
- Identify trends and problem areas
- Implement corrective actions that improve safety and efficiency
With the right EHS software, organizations can build a safer workplace, reduce environmental impact, and strengthen overall operational performance.
What is the best EHS platform?
Choosing the Right Health and Safety Platform
Health and safety platforms can be offered as:
- Standalone systems
- Part of a larger suite, such as QMS or ERP
- Included within broader supply chain or HR tools
Each option works, but the right choice depends on your organization’s goals and complexity.
What to Look For
A strong platform should be:
- Flexible — adapts to your current processes
- Scalable — grows with your organization
- Goal-aligned — supports the outcomes you want to achieve
Setting clear goals upfront helps you identify which solution truly understands your needs.
Why EHS Insight Stands Out
EHS Insight is built around the unique requirements of each business. Our platform is customizable, easy to manage, and designed to make compliance simpler—no matter the industry or size.
Can you explain how your pricing works?
Our pricing structure is determined by two key factors:
- Firstly, it depends on the number of contacts or workers, contractors, etc. within your organization.
- Secondly, it varies based on the number of modules you choose to implement.
In essence, our pricing is calculated by considering the total number of contacts across the selected modules for initial rollout. This approach allows us to tailor pricing to your organization's specific needs and scale.
Why do businesses use EHS applications?
Why Businesses Use EHS Management Solutions

Where EHS Systems Matter Most
EHS platforms are valuable in any industry, but they’re essential in sectors with heavy regulations and strict oversight. These include:
- Mining

These industries face complex environmental and safety rules. EHS systems give them a unified way to manage compliance, control risks, and operate confidently.
Is there a return on investment in EHS software?
Absolutely.
A study by Hobson & Company, a respected research firm specializing in ROI analysis, partnered with EHS Insight to answer this exact question.
What the Research Found
The study focused on the challenges organizations face in managing:
- Audits
- Incidents
- Compliance tasks
It measured how EHS Insight’s solutions help overcome these challenges—and the results were clear.
The ROI Impact
- 4-month payback period after upgrading to EHS Insight
- 267% return on investment in the first year
These findings show the real financial impact of investing in EHS Insight. It’s not only a smarter way to manage safety and compliance—it’s a profitable decision for long-term growth.
What is needed from our IT department to get started/implement the EHS Insight platform?
Absolutely nothing!
EHS Insight is a SaaS application running in the cloud and can be implemented without an IT department or any IT involvement.
There are scenarios, however, where having IT involvement is critical to the successful implementation.
Such scenarios are, but not limited to:
- SSO Requirements
- Historical Data import
- Integrations (flat file or using API)
What is needed from our IT department and our team to replace our current EHS platform?
The level of IT involvement depends on your current EHS platform and whether you plan to migrate historical data into EHS Insight.
When IT Support Is Needed
- Exporting historical data from your existing system
- Often delivered in CSV or raw data format
- Analyzing your current platform to understand data structure
- Mapping data into EHS Insight using our templates
When API Integration Comes Into Play
In some cases, IT may need to create integration scripts using our API.
This ensures:
- Accurate data transfer
- Clean structure alignment
- A smooth, interruption-free transition
What Ensures a Successful Migration?
Clear communication.
A strong partnership between your IT team and EHS Insight helps guarantee your platform replacement is seamless, accurate, and efficient.
How long does the implementation process take?
Implementation Timeline
- Standard Support: 30–60 days
- Enterprise Support: 3–9 months
Implementation times vary because every customer’s setup, resources, and goals are different.
What Affects Your Timeline?
The biggest factor is your level of commitment and available resources—especially the involvement of:
- IT professionals
- Subject matter experts
- Safety, health, and environmental team members
When these roles are engaged early and consistently, the process moves much faster.
How Fast Can It Go?
With strong participation and clear priorities:
- Many customers finish in 60–90 days
- Some complete implementation in as little as one week
Why Some Projects Take Longer
Larger or more complex organizations often need more time—sometimes up to nine months or more.
This is because every implementation is customized to fit:
- Your processes
- Your data
- Your workflows
- Your internal requirements
The result is a tailored system that works the way your organization needs it to.
Is there any software that must be installed on the client to operate the solution?
No.
There’s no software that needs to be installed on your end to run EHS Insight.
The platform is fully cloud-based, so your teams can access it from any modern browser without downloads, installs, or local maintenance.
How Does User Management Work? Is it only local to the software or can we use LDAP?
Our system gives you flexible options for managing users, whether you prefer local control or centralized integration.
Local User Management
You can manage users directly in the platform—similar to working in a spreadsheet.
This includes:
- Adding users
- Editing user details
- Activating or deactivating accounts
Integration With External Systems
For organizations needing centralized control, the platform supports:
- Active Directory (AD)
- Payroll providers like ADP (via API integration)
These integrations make it easy to sync user credentials and payroll-related information across systems.
LDAP Support
If your organization uses LDAP, the platform can integrate seamlessly to support:
- Centralized directory management
- Streamlined authentication
- Unified user oversight
Can we pay extra to have EHS Insight handle the implementation, uploading data, configure an API etc?
How We Support Data Uploads

To protect your data and maintain full control, we encourage customers to handle uploads themselves after the initial setup.
