In fact, worker illness and injury alone cost employers $225.8 billion each year. This doesn’t include costs associated with improving safety practices, eliminating hazards, replacing equipment, conducting additional training, or the myriad other actions that usually take place when a major incident occurs.

Because of its impact on a company’s profitability, safety is arguably one of the most critical components to any company’s strategy. It shouldn’t be left to chance and needs to be prioritized in EHS departments to ensure all decisions are made with safety leading the way.
