    OSHA Cites Idaho-Based Construction Company

Alta Construction Inc., an Idaho-based construction company, is facing $106,000 in proposed fines from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

OSHA cited Alta Construction for three safety violations relating to unsafe trenching practices. According to OSHA, the company failed to provide proper cave-in protection as employees were inside a 7-feet deep trench. “Fortunately no one was injured, but it is imperative that companies use protective systems in trenches to keep their workers safe,” said OSHA Area Director David Kearns, in Boise.
